| Dimaond Education Diamonds are in the feldspar mineral family. They are a 10 on the Mohs scale of hardness, making them the hardest of all the gemstones. Although colorless or nearly colorless diamonds are the most common diamonds mined, they can actually be found in nearly every color of the rainbow. Pinks and reds are the rarest of all and therefore the most expensive. These colored diamonds are called "fancies." We specialize in fine colored as well as white diamonds. We carry GIA and EGL certified diamonds upon request. The price is slightly higher when a certification is required, but the peace of mind is often worth the slight difference in price. We do not sell any synthetic diamonds or "cubic zirconia." All our diamonds are mined from the Earth.
| | Precious Stones Education "Precious Stones" simply refers to the four most expensive and rare gemstones. They are diamonds, emeralds, rubies and sapphires which are used in the design of fine jewelry.
| | Semi-Precious Stones Education "Semi-Precious Stones" refers to all stones other than diamonds, emeralds, rubies and sapphires. There are many beautiful stones in this class of gems including amethyst, aquamarine, citrine, garnet, opal, pearl, peridot, tanzanite, and topaz.
| | Precious Metal Education Most of our jewelry are in either: 14k white gold, 14k yellow gold, 14k rose gold or 18k white gold, 18k yellow gold, 18k rose gold, or platinum. Anything above that would not be safe for the precious stones, because it will be too soft of the gold metal to mount any stone in it.
